To deliver your consultation, we collect your name, email address, state of residence, a description of your skin condition, photos of the condition, and your pharmacy preference. We collect payment information processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
Your photos are held temporarily in encrypted, access-controlled storage only for the duration of your clinician's review. Once your case is complete and results are delivered, your photos are permanently deleted. We do not view, analyze, or retain your photos for any purpose beyond delivering your clinical response.
We do not sell your data. We do not build marketing profiles from your health information. We do not share your information with third parties except as necessary to deliver care — your clinician and your selected pharmacy. We do not use your skin condition or photos for advertising purposes.
Clinical data related to your consultation — including diagnosis, treatment plan, and prescription — is handled by your treating clinician under their own HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. Dermfaster is not a covered entity under HIPAA for the purposes of storing clinical records.
We use minimal analytics to understand how patients use the site. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in third-party ad networks.
We retain your name, email, and case status for a reasonable period to deliver results and respond to support requests. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing info@dermfaster.com.

Dermfaster provides asynchronous telehealth consultations for non-emergency skin conditions. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Do not use this service for emergencies.
Dermfaster connects patients with licensed clinicians for photo-based assessment of skin conditions within our defined scope. Clinicians provide their professional judgment based on submitted photos and intake information. Results may include a diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and a prescription if clinically appropriate.
Submission of a consultation does not guarantee a prescription will be issued. Your clinician will determine the appropriate course of care based on clinical judgment. If your condition requires in-person evaluation, you will be informed and your fee will be refunded.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information, including photos that clearly show the condition being assessed. Inaccurate or misleading information may affect the quality of your clinical response.
If submitted photos are insufficient for clinical assessment, your clinician may request additional photos or decline to complete the consultation. In such cases your fee will be refunded.
Payment is collected before submission. Refunds are issued if your clinician determines the condition is outside scope, requires in-person care, or if submitted photos are insufficient for assessment. Refunds are not issued for completed consultations where clinical care was delivered.
Prescriptions, where issued, are sent to your selected pharmacy. Medication costs are separate from the consultation fee and are your responsibility. We recommend Cost Plus Drugs or your insurer's pharmacy benefit for lower medication costs.
Dermfaster is a technology platform connecting patients with independent licensed clinicians. We are not a medical provider. Clinical decisions are made solely by the treating clinician. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dermfaster's liability is limited to the amount paid for your consultation.
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use of Dermfaster constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
